Hagastrand, Autograph Collection – A New Destination for Wellness, Design and Presence

By the still waters of Brunnsviken in Stockholm’s Royal Haga Park, something new has emerged. Hagastrand, Autograph Collection has now opened, offering a hotel experience shaped by contrasts where heat meets cold, stillness meets rhythm, and tradition meets innovation. With 215 rooms, one of the most ambitious spas in Northern Europe, and a full range of social, culinary and creative spaces, Hagastrand redefines Nordic hospitality with a strong sense of place, presence and purpose.

With its opening, Hagastrand marks a new chapter in international hospitality. The hotel is the first Autograph Collection property in Scandinavia, a recognition that highlights its unique identity, independent spirit and dedication to meaningful guest experiences.

Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 31 extraordinary hotel brands, encompasses 300 independent hotels located in desirable destinations across the globe.

The property has been created by the acclaimed Swedish architecture firm Wingårdhs, with interiors inspired by the natural calm of the Nordic landscape. Generous materials, timeless details and tactile quality form the foundation of the guest experience, whether overlooking the water or the surrounding Haga Park. Guests are invited to unwind in peaceful rooms, connect in lively lounges and discover new rituals for well-being, movement and shared experience.

Spanning over 2,500 square meters, the Hagastrand Spa is a holistic space where Nordic wellness traditions blend with modern science and sensory design. The experience includes Scandinavia’s largest snow room for cryotherapy, Sweden’s first event sauna for guided rituals, and Gongmatic, a custom-built sound installation that creates immersive meditative journeys. Guests can explore the thermal experience through contrast bathing, red light therapy and neuroacoustic loungers. For those drawn to movement, Hagastrand offers an 18-meter pool with underwater music for meditative flow, alongside Sanctum classes that channel rhythm, energy and inner presence. For a more private experience, the wellness suite provides a secluded setting for treatments, rest or meaningful moments together.

Hagastrand is also a destination for food, conversation and creative encounters. At Restaurant Njord, seasonal Nordic produce is shaped by global techniques and flavors in a warm and contemporary setting. The hotel also features a vibrant cocktail bar, a spa lounge that invites slow pauses and nourishing meals, and a games lounge designed for informal connection and relaxed enjoyment.

Conferences, offsites and celebrations are fully supported with flexible meeting rooms, a grand ballroom accommodating up to 300 guests, and venues with direct access from the outside. This makes it possible to host product launches, exhibitions or events that require generous space and smooth logistics. Vehicles can even be brought directly into the venue to be showcased as part of the event. Each area is equipped with advanced technology and carefully designed to encourage creativity, focus and natural flow.

Hagastrand is more than a hotel. It is a place to return to your senses, connect with others and discover the quiet balance that appears when contrasts are allowed to meet.
