Hotel J is growing: ”Stockholm’s Newport” gets 113 new hotel rooms

In April Hotel J cuts the first sod for the new expansion. When the project is finished in August 2011, the hotel enlarges from today’s 45 hotel rooms to 158 hotel rooms. In an adjacent building, situated just above the existing one, another 113 new rooms and function space for up to 160 guests are now being constructed.

Hotel J’s meeting villa ”Tornvillan” next door will at the same time be more integrated with the hotel, featuring the new breakfast room and a new restaurant which together with the existing meeting and function rooms will be refurbished in a 'club house'-style following J’s design concept. The expansion will be ready in August 2011.

The new hotel rooms will feature the same first-class amenities and high standard as the current rooms. The ambitious environmental goals and strategies ensured by the official eco-label the Nordic Swan that all Nobis’ hotels and restaurants have been certified by, will be even more significant here since the new hotel will be a prototype of modern and environmentally friendly construction for the property owner Vasakronan.

The project leader in charge of the expansion is Ralf Thalén, who was also responsible for the first hotel building 10 years ago.
