Nobis Hotel at a new prestigious list

When internationally renowned Travel + Leisure presents the best new hotels of the year, the selection varies from a pioneering South African farmstead to a sexy Manhattan skyscraper. Out of the 50 hotels on The It List 2011, twelve are European and Nobis Hotel is the only Scandinavian one to be nominated.

The hotel was recently selected to Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List 2011 and has also already been honored with several other awards and nominations, including White Guide’s “Bar of the Year 2011”. Travel + Leisure’s It List covers all continents and the editors’ pick has been done after months of research among hundreds of new hotels all over the world. Nobis Hotel is described, despite its color palette inspired by a wintery Stockholm, as ”far from icy”:

”Despite a color palette seemingly inspired by the Nordic winter (slate gray; stark white; deep brown), the latest hotel in Stockholm’s central square is far from icy. Owners Alessandro and Stefano Catenacci’s pioneering Italian restaurant Caina has been reborn in the Nobis with a menu of seasonal rustic Italian dishes. For an after-hours splurge there’s the glamorous Gold Bar downstairs, or just turn in: mini-bars in all 201 wood-paneled rooms (designed by Swedish star architect Claesson Koivisto Rune) are stocked with decadent treats such as Taittinger champagne and hemp chocolate.”

- We are very happy to make it onto yet another prestigious list, says Claes Anerud, MD. To be one of Travel + Leisure’s fifty favorites among this year’s newcomers is fantastic and it’s a fine selection of really impressing hotels that the magazine has nominated, which makes us extra proud to be one of the chosen few.
