Nobis scores twice at this year’s White Guide gala: The Gold bar at new Nobis Hotel is ”Bar of the Year” and Operakällaren ”Wine Experience of the Year”!
On Monday 7 March the winners were announced in this year’s White Guide. Operakällaren pulled of the prize “Best Wine Experience of the Year” and the Gold bar was honored with the “Best Bar of the Year” award.
The White Guide nominates Sweden's best restaurants in different categories and also the most outstanding overall restaurant experiences in the country. White Guide 2011 evaluated about 800 restaurants and 90 bars (new category this year) and 456 restaurants and 35 bars are included in this year's edition. According to White Guide, Swedish gastronomy continues to develop at all levels and particularly in the very top. The finest restaurants are constantly improving and the others follow.
Operakällaren’s Main Dining Room is praised for the wine list’s composition, the handling and presentation of the wine, the wine suggestions and the ability to convey knowledge in an interesting way. Motivation: "For a very professional and entertaining sommelierie, in perfect harmony with the magnificent dining room service, and where interesting progress is combined with correct handling of treasury in the vaults below, from where guests are treated with castles, estates and vintages that other restaurants can just dream about.” Operakällaren also ranks as Sweden’s third best restaurant at the International Masterclass list, scoring the same total amount of points as the two winning restaurants. The Gold bar at recetly opened Nobis Hotel at Norrmalmstorg is rewarded because it ”has created a new bar destination, already turning into a classic – with both top-notch personality and bartendering.”
